Established in 1996 with the official approval from the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia. this MSDA is registered as 'Persatuan Sukan Menyelam Malaysia' or 'Malaysian Sport Diving Association' (hence MSDA).
It was formed with the purpose of becoming the voice for all its members on issues pertaining to the interest of the SCUBA diving industry in Malaysia.
